No doubt blonde, dark brown, pink, blue, green all colours have their own essence and we therefore have a hard choice sticking to only one colour for a long period of time and thus comes the urge to change out hair colour often.

But the one thing that sets me back from colouring my hair again and again is the smell of colour oops that seems to trouble me like a bee sting!

1. Wash your hair with a strong smelling shampoo and then spray a hair fragrance mist

Washing your hair with shampoo is compulsory. You cannot be saved from this part. But while choosing the shampoo, choose the one with a bit of a strong smell that lasts long.

That isn’t enough though! Next you need to spray a beautiful fragrant hair mist spray in your hair so that the smell overpowers the smell of the colour oops. Spray as many times as required and that’s the quickest way to hide the smell of colour oops.

2. Dry your hair in smoke of camphor to get the colour oops smell of our your hair

This is an ancient way to keep the hair from smelling. Camphor when burnt gives out a very beautiful smell that lingers for long. Once your hair is washed with shampoo and semi dried, light a camphor and put it in a candle holder.

Now rotate the candle holder containing the burning camphor around your hair, bringing the hair above the smoke so that the smoke enters the hair. It’s more like an aromatherapy experience which you are going to love for sure.

3. Make a paste of yoghurt and Fenugreek seeds and apply to get the colour oops smell out of your hair

Apply the paste in your hair and keep for 1 hour. Wash off with a shampoo and then apply a conditioner.

The smell of colour oops will be gone in an hour!

4. Coconut oil and lemon juice mixture is yet another effective way to get rid of the colour oops smell from hair

Coconut oil has a pleasant smell to it and so lemon is a great deodorizer. But lemon cannot be applied directly to the hair and scalp because it will strip the hair of all moisture and render the hair dry. It can even have a bleaching effect on your hair and that’s because lemon contains a high concentration of citric acid in it.

So heat the coconut oil in a bowl (in case it has got frozen) and then squeeze a lemon in it. Mix it well and then apply to your hair. Keep it for half an hour and then wash it off with shampoo. The smell will die eventually.

5. Cinnamon paste and coconut oil help to get rid of the colour oops smell out of hair

You can take cinnamon powder or make a paste of it in the mixer grinder. Just add the paste or powder to coconut oil and mix it well.

Apply the mixture to your hair and keep it for 1 hour. The cinnamon will deliver a pleasant aroma to your hair and cut off the colour oops smell. Shampoo and rinse with water.

Beer contains alcohol and is naturally good for hair. Wash your hair with beer and then apply shampoo and rinse. The smell of colour oops will leave within a blink.

10. Apply essential oil to your hair and wash it off with a clarifying shampoo

Essential oils bear great aroma in them and when applied to hair it helps in cutting out the smell of colour oops. Follow with a clarifying shampoo for better results.
